"

I brought in a sentimental gold necklace focus piece that had belonged to my aunt. I had broken off the red stone as I polished the piece and they repaired it for me quickly at a very reasonable price. When I went to pick it up the piece was repaired perfectly, it had been polished beautifully, and it looked much better than it did when it was originally given to me years ago. Staff was friendly, courteous, and very helpful and my experience was excellent.

Outstanding experience. Went in for a repair to a necklace and the need for a watch band. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I had my two children with me and they enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful jewelry in the cases. One of my favorite things is looking at jewelry, so we all enjoyed the sparkles! I have beautifully cleaned rings also which is fun!! Thank you for excellent and friendly service.

What a great experience. Took my watch to get repaired and cost much less than I thought it would be. I dealt with Frank, and he is super friendly, most jewelry stores i've gone to are a little "snooty" but not Frank, he was super nice and down to earth. I really appreciate the help. 5 stars all the way

Ring Resizing FAQ.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about our ring resizing services. If you have any further inquiries, please get in touch.

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?

How many sizes up or down can my ring be resized?

Generally speaking, we advise clients to keep size changes within one to two sizes up or down. The reason for this is to help the ring retain its shape and structural integrity. Larger changes are sometimes possible, but they can put additional stress on the band or setting.

With this in mind, exactly how far a specific ring can be resized depends on a few things: the metal it’s made from, the design of the band, and where any gemstones sit. A plain band is a lot easier to resize than one with stones set all the way around, for example.

Will resizing a ring leave a mark?

In most cases, resizing a ring will not leave any noticeable marks. We use metal that closely matches the color of your ring and carefully finish and polish the resized area (site of incision).

In some cases, there may be a faint seam where the ring was resized.

Prior to resizing your ring, we’ll let you know what to expect.

Can you resize rings of all designs?

Some ring designs can make resizing difficult, if not impossible altogether.

One example is a tension-set ring, where the tension of the band helps hold the gemstone securely in place. Resizing the band can alter this tension and compromise the setting.

Another example is an eternity band. Since gemstones are set around the entire circumference of the band, resizing can disrupt the stone settings and make the process much more difficult.

In cases like these, we’ll inspect the ring first and let you know whether resizing is possible.

How long does it take to resize a ring?

With a a whole team of goldsmiths and jewelers on site, we typically offer a turnaround time of two weeks.

For a more concrete idea of a timeline, it’s best to get in touch with our team.

How are rings resized?

Sizing a ring up or down begins by making a small cut in the ring’s band. From here, the procedure differs depending on whether you want to make the ring bigger or smaller.

Sizing Up
With the initial incision made, the band is then widened, and a small piece of matching metal is soldered into the space to bridge the gap. During this step, we’re sure to use a metal hue and solder that matches the color and quality of your ring, so the join blends seamlessly with the rest of the band.

Once the new piece of metal has been joined to the band, the area is filed, smoothed, and polished.

Sizing Down
To make a ring smaller, a small section of metal is removed from the band. The two ends are then brought back together and soldered, closing the gap to bring the ring down to your desired size.

As with sizing up, a matching solder is used, and the area is carefully finished and polished so the ring looks as good as new.

Cleanings & Inspections

We highly recommend having your important jewelry items cleaned and checked at least once a year. Regular inspections are the best way to protect against losing a stone or the entire piece, especially with necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Over time, settings can wear down, and pins and hinges may weaken. By addressing these issues early, we can help prevent potential losses. We offer this service at no charge, and it can usually be done while you wait.
